Laundry Preferences

Thank you for picking up my laundry.

  1. Please make sure you come to 100 Memorial Drive in Cambridge, MA. It is near MIT's campus. I have heard there is another 100 Memorial Drive somewhere in the Boston area, so double-check your GPS.
  2. Pick up my laundry outside my apartment door. My apartment is on the 11th floor. Please drop off my clothes at the same spot -- not in the lobby.
  3. Please fold the pairs of socks using the "cuff fold" method (see instructions below).

How to Fold Socks (Cuff Fold Method)

Step 1 Lay one sock flat on the table. Place the matching sock directly on top, lining up the toes and heels.
Step 2 Fold both socks in half together by bringing the toe end up to meet the cuff (opening) end.
Step 3 KEY STEP: Grab the outer cuff (the opening/elastic part) and stretch it open. Pull this cuff over the entire folded bundle like a pocket, wrapping the socks into a secure ball.

Why this matters: The cuff holds both socks together so pairs don't get separated in the drawer. See the photos below for reference.

✔ Correct

Cuff folded over to secure the pair

Correct sock folding - cuff wrapped around bundle

✖ Incorrect

Just rolled or laid flat - will come apart

Incorrect sock folding - socks just laid on top of each other

4. If possible, please use OxiClean for the whites.

Thanks again.
